This time of the month for the new hidden object game that will be released by Artifex Mundi. As with all the rest of their output Dark Arcana: The Carnival is a story driven puzzle game light, this time the story is that a woman is missing, carnival scary and mysterious parallel dimension.

For those who are new to this genre you control a large circular cursor and use it to interact with objects on the screen. The game plays out as a series of 2D screens each representing a new location in the Carnival of the title. Scattered across the screen are various points of interest that will generally cause a new puzzle game to let the story progress.

Puzzles in Dark Arcana: The Carnival comes in a variety of styles of hidden object through pattern matching or restyle item. Puzzle rotating concentric circles to create an image or connecting wires to complete the circuit. While all the puzzles are relatively simple, and a bit samey in the implementation, the background doing a pretty good job of putting them in a different location to add variety. Selection of the puzzle here is not the best for a game Artifex Mundi, which I felt was a key weakness here.

Having played a fair few games of this style I have now come to appreciate the hidden object scenes and how this varies between games. Dark Arcana: The Carnival seems to be one of the older games with Artifex Mundi because there is less variation in the hidden object scenes, I choose words from the list here than say, also identified silhouette. It's just a small thing, but it does not reduce the range of activities offered.

As with other games Dark Arcana also has a generous hint system, effectively allowing you to skip any puzzles throughout the game, and the puzzle selection alternatives if you do not want to find the hidden objects. The following is an alternative puzzle card matching game that proved to be fun to play. There is no evidence of wall here, a feature that I love about the series enigmatic, but you get the monkey helpers who can be called to reach items could not be accessed. This is a nice feature, and I love my monkey, but it does feel a bit excessive.

Basic gameplay never varies too much between this kind of game and this is something that you will either appreciate or not. For me this is a game to relax with because they do not have a failed state and I was under no time constraints or pressure at all when playing them. I switched to this for their story and Dark Arcana: The Carnival is not good, I am quite interested to see where it would even have the original feel intimidating for it.

Again the presentation a bit ropey when it comes to animated cutscenes, with everything that looks a little low res and low-fi, although this possibility is limited machine. I found the graphics to see somehow simpler than newer games and obviously this is the beginning of Artifex Mundi release.

So overall Dark Arcana: Carnival is another hidden object game is solid. There is a shortage of the puzzles here, which may mark this as the previous release of Artifex Mundi, but the story is interesting and keeps me engaged throughout. I do not think this will do anything to attract new players, but if you're a fan then you will probably enjoy this.

THE VERDICT

Dark Arcana: Carnival is another hidden object game is solid. While there is no shortage of variety of puzzles here the story interesting and kept me engaged throughout. I do not think this will do anything to attract new players, but if you're a fan then you will probably enjoy this. You may have noticed that we've been saying "as the title of Artifex Mundi else" or something similar throughout this review for Dark Arcana: The Carnival, and that's because if you have played even one, you will probably find a lot of similarities offered here with the only really change in a setting that sets it apart. But if you do things well, why change it right? Although there is a problem with character models and voice acting, story short pleasant and nice visual style and an easy finish means that most will enjoy their brief time with the game. Those who have played the previous title of Artifex Mundi will know if they want it or not depends on their feeling with the previous title, and for those who have not we recommend choosing this one, especially if or when it goes on sale.

Game OVERVIEW

Story

Dariusburst lasted a century after Darius Darius II in which the planet continues to be attacked by the Army Belser. Battle continues to indicate a possible end to the long war on Darius, especially with the development of Burst System, a powerful new weapon is equipped with the latest Silver Eagle fighters. Using this new weapon system Pratica Riga pilot, pilot of the Silver Hawk Burst series; and Ti2, the computer AI assuming the body of a young girl. Together, pilot against Belser Army fleet, factories, and even a castle previously occupied.

Gameplay

Gameplay and groove to maintain consistency before Darius game: player against Army Belsar through several stages and can choose to fight in different zones along a different path, eventually reaching a different final boss and ending. Chronicle Saviors introduce new Burst Beam boats, Formula Silver Hawk Burst, Burst Beam which uses such as Legend and Next but could only hit the enemy with normal fire at close range; Both Silver Hawk (based on Darius II), Gaiden Silver Hawk (which is based on and uses his Darius Gaiden Black Hole Bomb in place of Burst Beam), and Genesis Silver Hawk (which is based on the G-Darius and had some sort of mechanical balok- duel that game) is also available in Arcade mode.

Game  REVIEW

Darius Burst: Chronicle Rescue is the latest installment in the franchise 30 years of Taito's Darius. It first appeared as a Japanese PSP-exclusive game in 2009, eventually migrated to the arcade, where he displays an elaborate cabinet it two big screen. While the series is not known in the West as in Japan, it is still widely regarded as one of the most influential series of shooting games of all time; Darius Burst legacy that captures well.

At first glance, Darius Burst scrolling shooter seems like a fairly typical: scroll along the horizontal, guns and missiles to take out waves of enemies, collect power-ups, and a boss fight at the end. Indeed, not all of these truly unique - and boss stages reused - but the rules present in these challenges overshadow the presence of recycled elements.

The sheer variety on display here - and the authentic feel of old ships - is a real treat, especially for fans of the series.

Elsewhere, Darius Burst resurface old material to great effect: the selection of the ship in the game not only includes the design created for Darius Burst, but also ships from Darius previous game, complete with different weapons and shot patterns. Some of this makes the game more difficult (Darius I and II ship lacked Burst function), while others change the way you approach the meeting (The Gaiden ship replace the screen-clearing Burst Black Hole Bomb). There was even a vessel of clear Taito shooter Scramble Formation, which Murakumo, featuring four separate weapons unit and play as any in the game. The sheer variety on display here - and the authentic feel of old ships - is a real treat, especially for fans of the series.

The PC version of Darius Burst allows you to recreate the arcade experience with the game stretched across two monitors, creating an ultra-wide image. If not, you should receive a letter-box format of the game, which squeezes the ultra-wide image to fit your display, leaving black bars at the bottom and top of the screen. One exception to this rule is the Savior Chronicle mode, which is adjusted for a standard screen of 16: 9. Although the four-player local stables are available, the lack of online multiplayer is a disappointment, especially considering that there are some missions that can only be cleared by four players.

Even with these issues, however, Darius Burst is one of the best traditional shooter to come out in years. Excellent visual design, avant-garde music and memorable, thrilling boss encounter, and it was packed challenge to make you come back and play again. If you enjoy the game at all and are craving a finely-crafted, intense shooting experience that will keep you hooked for a long time, then Darius Burst: Chronicle Rescue is feasible.

Dangun Feveron offers a comprehensive level of customization in the gameplay. Players are asked to choose how quickly they want the boat to move, choose one of the three rapid-fire weapon, and one of the three sustained-fire weapon. This allows players to customize the ship for the needs of the individual, be it a speeder quick-fly with a shot wide to quickly deal squadrons of enemies, or vessel with a lower speed to avoid bullets carefully, and firepower concentrated to destroy a single enemy more fast.

Scoring system

Dangun Feveron other features unique gameplay mechanism, SOS System. For each enemy destroyed at the right time, which is called a "cyborg" will appear. Game REVIEW

Dangun Feveron is an arcade game in 1998 which spilled out of the factory which shuffles the Cave shmup legends like Dodon Pachi, ESP Ra.De. and immediately released the Guwange awesomeness. Feveron kick back and give a shoot 'em up fans all the usual big-ticket items. You fly through space, blasting away at the incoming criminals, to large, end-boss mech-like appear and spewing fireballs and laser spears at you. Shmup typical fare, right? Not too. 

Fresh for this game, is the act of capturing floating man who was expelled from exploding ship you destroy. The larger the ship, the more people come out. Surrounding each person is assumed to be a protective shield. Helpless as an astronaut floats to the bottom of the screen, they become yellow. Points and you build a chain depending on the color of your people ripped off. Blasting ships release more people, more men gathered increasing strength, improving put bad beats over ... you got it ... in other words, it's good to get a space-dudes. Clearly mark Caves multiplier idea, but the fact that they are the ones who actually is a nice change to routine coins or gems bonus items.

As with all games of the cave, it's a pretty good graphics. The company always takes the time to make a clean visual that has the feel of a cartoon-mech. One game Cave future, Progear (1999), actually take the machine, cartoon vibe to the big, entertaining level ... and as Progear, Feveron gives you a lot to shoot. Pour over your enemy with a determination that will destroy Gen.Patton. A good sign of a solid design, is the fact that no matter how many bullets fly, and how many ships zooming, you can always achieve a safe place. Caves mastered this type of design a game where there is always a sweet spot to slide in and out of to make everything feel soooo good!

Accompanying all this blitzness is funky, space-disco songs and themes that give the game funnsy, relaxed vibe. Music never make you feel stressed and I think it really helps when you can groove to the shmup-ness! Beats and visual style, has the feel of a disco-ey. power shots you take dancing disco-odd shape, which eliminate all the enemies on the road, while giving you speeds up to collect the goods. This is a solid shmup shmup from a solid company, Caves, and you would be better to play this game.

Man's significance does not lie in what he gets, but what he really longs to achieve.

Game  REVIEW

Danger Zone 2 is, in everything but name, the direct successor to the beloved Crash mode in Burnout Revenge, in the best way. This game is full of colors of automotive destruction is what I expected when last year's disappointing Danger Zone set the action in somber gray boxes from the warehouse. It laudibly bring your car - yes, plural today - back on the ground and out into realistic closed circuit track where they really can do. And by "do" mean "deliberately and horrifyingly accident, turning your car into a mass of twisted metal that burns and causes 80 car pile-up with your Smashbreaker explosion."

Burnout Crash mode is always brilliant formula, and it was every bit as fun here as it ever was.

That's awesome Burnout Crash mode has always been about: the arcade-y racing that leads to on-goal in the final crash. It all ramps up to the grand finale, in that if you destroy enough car through the conventional way you will be given Smashbreaker - basically a bomb in your car that sent shock waves of explosives to inflict more damage. Once you trigger that you can guide your car to start - in the air - in the direction of another car or a power-up that allows you to save a crash occurs. When the dust settles, the damage is calculated and you get a score that reflects the potential damage you. The formula is always brilliant, and it was every bit as fun here as it ever was.

The change of scenery is the best improvement Danger Zone 2 makes more than its predecessor. Bright sunlight and the open road allows this sequel to lie down, and Crash Test scenarios take advantage of it. Not only Danger Zone 2 was clearly faster than its predecessor - and the visuals do a very good job to convey a sense of speed - but a lot of the intersection now has a sometimes-long run-up to the order of an explosive accident at the end, and secondary objectives welcomed built to turn that the extra driving time. You may need to crash a number of cars on the road for Danger Zone, get there using the turbo boost continuous, etc. Trying to reach them adds an extra layer of challenge and fun, which in turn will provide an opportunity to drastically better than scoring a gold or platinum award in each song.

Of course, physics a bit excessive, but erred on the side of fun. 

Power-up back, requires you to think carefully about where to aim your car before and after triggering the explosion Smashbreaker at every intersection accidents. Grabbing pickup cash quickly increase your score, while hit Smashbreaker icon gives you additional valuable opportunity to blow up your car. Each of the 23 outdoor intersection (29 if you count the training track six) have enough challenges and various layouts get platinum ranking above probably will not happen on the first try, and would ask you to think strategically about how to approach each each puzzle traffic. built-in leaderboard from the first Danger Zone happily go back, let you try and one-up your friends and thereby add a little organic replayability to each of the intersections above are only getting better achievements.

This sequel even managed to sneak in a bit of residual Burnout although technically only revive Crash mode: some accident the intersection of run-up, as well as three bonus tracks that opens after you complete the core 23, effectively using this Burnout Burning Lap mechanics. Basically, you need to go as fast as possible, turbo boost and all, as clean as possible. This adds a Danger Zone 2 better as part of the run-up to the intersection of the accident, because when it served as the only goal of the three bonus songs was just no fun without the ability to crash. (That's how I feel about it back in Burnout, too.)

In addition, I am pleased to say that, unlike the first danger zone, all I can do is nitpick this one. Of course, I want to be able to replay crashes my best and then have the editing controls to position the camera angles and upload videos of them on social media, but there is no such tool here. Also, the menu looks like a container unfinished super-smooth fonts thanks to them. Oh, and of course I want more tracks. I'll pretty much always want more tracks.

While it's a shame that the Danger Zone 2 only runs at 900p / 30fps in standard Xbox One and 1080p / 30fps on PS4, 1080p / 60fps or 4K / 30fps options offered if you are in the Xbox One X or PS4 Pro (genuine alternative 4K / 30fps X, checkerboarded 4k / 30fps on Pro), or of course the PC is capable. But at least when you fail and need to reload to try again intersection accidents, they are fast loading times.

This extra wrinkles to the level of making the game a bit more involved, but they also provide a glimpse of the usual racing gameplay. Various vehicle with which you play each level has different handling, but in general, it is quite sensitive. You receive points for drifting, but we never really needed as easy to change through every corner of the game - in fact, it might be a little too loose for his own good. Coupled with a rather strict parameters on touching the wall or a larger vehicle than you, handling could do with being a little tighter.

However, more than served its purpose in the game is, first and foremost, about the massive traffic pileups, and you get more than 20 levels in which to improve, smash, and explode your way to a high score. Thanks to the up run of the foregoing, the level of both longer and more varied than in the first game. In some, you will be racing a Formula 1 car through eight lane highway, and at others you'll be steaming through the car in a large truck that sends traffic fly. It's good old-fashioned fun, and even though the game is light on content, execution style gameplay Crash mode is pretty spot on.

Once you get at least a bronze in each level, you unlock some bonus stages that actually shift the focus to a time trial style race against time. This gives the best view in driving, and while the handling is a little rough around the edges, taste very good speed. It hinted at what was to come in Dangerous Driving, Three Fields' racing game, which is a nice addition for those who beat the main game.

THE VERDICT

By expanding on the gameplay blown-'em-up we know and love, Danger Zone 2 made some nice improvements to the formula. Game  REVIEW

On paper, Danger Zone seems to be a dream come true Burnout fans. In it, the original creators of Burnout will take a crack fresh gameplay that defined their careers - all while the actual IP Burnout gathering dust on the shelf EA. And while it's perfectly create impressive crash modes of gameplay mechanics perspective, it eliminates virtually all Burnout summer-y, personality tongue-in-cheek, and alternative modes. The result is a bare-bones game that's good for a few hours of fun, but do not have the endurance.

Danger Zone is only consists of one mode: Crash Test, Crash Test which includes 20 interchanges. Each Junction is the intersection you start your car at high speed, and they must be approached strategically to inflict maximum damage and collect as many power-ups as possible. Who should you hit first? Where you have to throw your car using Aftertouch air control after triggering your Smashbreaker explosives? All the experiments that made it feel more like a puzzle game than a racer. Also know that you are going to fail, and fail often; Retry button will get a workout. And although the loading time is not too bad on the PS4, they just were not fast enough to be painful.

Three Fields Entertainment, an independent studio behind Golf Dangerous, consisting mainly of the same minds responsible for the classic criteria Burnout and Black - and this is very clear from the beginning. debut title is an arcade sports game that shares much in common with the golf as well as with the Rocket League football. Perhaps less so, in fact. Forget par, forget the low score to win, forget even golf clubs - the goal here is to simply cause as much damage as possible, and then putt the ball into the hole with the flashiest way you can think.

Your first port of call will be the Solo World Tour mode, featuring more than 100 stages in 10 Tours and four locations. Starting at the French court, you will soon open the United States, Australia, and the UK, featuring a kitchen, gas, and castle respectively. Each region is realized well, and although the location is often repeated, each level brings with it a new arrangement of things to destroy. Three Fields has successfully determined what feels best to destroy: food, fragile objects, and things are expensive. The simple act of wreaking havoc in each level is enough to keep you playing, because it's very satisfying transmit large amounts of equipment crashing to the floor.

There are more than that, of course. You are given a medal - a bronze to platinum - at the end of each level, depending on the amount of damage you cause. A basic level will give three main shots. The first is from the position set in the room, and you are usually given a target number of objects to hit before you can take the second shot and the damage you: Smashbreaker. At this point, the ball set on fire, and you are given full control.

You will want to bounce around the room, hit as many as you can before Smashbreaker meter runs out, but beware of straying too far from the flag. THE VERDICT

It's a real shame that here the performance was substandard, because Golf Dangerous fantastic fun, either alone or with friends in co-op and competitive modes. It has a surprising depth and a lot of content; solo and co-op to provide a combined total of 197 levels to smash through. Satisfying gameplay is the greatest strength, however, with short stages making it an ideal game to play when you have a spare half hour. Some may struggle with the controls, and the appeal may not last too long - but it was certainly no bogeys.
